Pride in “what”?

 

(What if it is true that) PRIDE is not all it is cracked up to be…

What would you think if people started to have parades for human traffickers, murderers, drunks, adulterers, idolaters, sorcerers, and the like?? I imagine no matter your background or the choices that have led you to where you are today, most of the general population would recognize it to be a ridiculous idea to have pride in or celebrate morally corrupt behavior such as these things. Why then, would people have pride, much less have a parade, because of their choice to have sex with someone of the same gender? Just because society permits you to have a parade, doesn’t make it a good choice for anyone!!!

It may occur to you to ask yourself some serious questions if you support “PRIDE” parades, and other such events and practices that have to do with personal choices, rather than who God created you to be. Right or wrong, who a person chooses to have sex with is exactly that, a choice. You are not BORN to become part of a group that identifies themselves with a growing list of letters and symbols that people are making up and calling them facts along the way. The choices we make have consequences, not only for us, but for everyone within our sphere of influence.

Seriously, where do people get off having “pride” in immoral behavior? It is minimally a slap in the face to humanity, and even more so a dare to God to do something about it. “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom”. Proverbs 11:2 (ESV)

To have “PRIDE” because you choose to have sex with someone of your same gender, is akin to having “PRIDE” in being a GOSSIP, or having “PRIDE” in ENVY, or in GLUTTONY, or in LUST, or in DRUNKENNESS, or in ADULTRY, or in being VAIN, or in GREED, or in LAZINESS, or in being a THIEF or even in having SEX with a child or family member, or in MURDER. “The LORD Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (they will be humbled). Isaiah 2:12 (NIV)

“Remember the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and the other towns around them. They acted as the angels who did not obey God. Their towns were full of sexual sin and men having physical relations with men. They suffer the punishment of eternal fire, as an example for all to see. It is the same with these people who have entered your group. They are guided by dreams. They make themselves dirty with sin. They reject God’s authority and say bad things against the glorious angels.” Jude 1:7-8 (ICB)

It makes as much sense to have a parade for “DRUNKS, ADULTERERS, MURDERERS, GOSSIPERS, GLUTTONS, as well as those who are ENVIOUS, LUSTFUL, or VAIN, according to the basic laws of humanity, as it is to have a parade for people who CHOOSE to have sex with someone of the same gender, or.... So, let’s halt this nonsense and stop calling things “GOOD” that are only causing more harm to humanity, and worse yet, grieving GOD.

“And he said, “what comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” Mark 7:20-23 (ESV)

Help me understand who in their right mind would have part of their body cut off or mutilated to try to remold themselves into something other than what God designed? “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart…” Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV) I have heard only negative emotional results from the effects of people making such choices people have done to try to change their gender. Regret, remorse, depression, and worse.

I have heard of or known of people who were born with genitalia that makes it difficult for the parents to determine what their gender will be, but that is a very rare anomaly, and if and ONLY when a CHOICE might be warranted. I have known people born without a uterus but female in all other respects. I have known men whose mother ate so much soy when her male child was in utero that the over abundance of estrogen in his biology caused him to appear “effeminate” as he grew older.

I have known men and women both who were sexually abused as children by someone they loved and respected only to grow up confused as to what or who they should love. Instead of getting counseling to help them heal, someone with an agenda came along and convinced them they were born to be sexually deviant. Some things that are important to consider is that you can mutilate and modify the body, but the male and female brain are inherently different and not so easily changed. Men are also generally stronger, faster, and have an unfair advantage over females when they pretend to be a girl and compete in female sports (that’s a whole conversation in itself).

It is a biological fact that the human brain is not even fully developed until one is in their mid-twenties. So, when children are trying to make sense of the world around them by role playing, and teenagers are going through normal intense hormonal changes, trying to develop their own identity as a human (of the gender they were born as), LET THEM BE. STOP trying to create genders, and such that DO NOT EXIST we are all humans there is only ONE God!!!

God created us as sexual beings. He created man and woman to become as one (that is why the parts fit together as they do). It’s not to say if you close your eyes and you don’t know who is stimulating you sexually that your body won’t respond… that is pure mechanical biology, NOT what God intended.

The GOOD NEWS is that ALL people can be redeemed, and their slate wiped clean. All that is needed is a TRULY repentant heart, and a desire and willingness to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. John 3:16 (ESV)

Let’s just love one another the way GOD intended, and let our PRIDE be as described in 1 Corinthians 1:31 “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.”

 We are well into the Christmas season as evidenced in the stores, the festive clothing people are wearing, and the lights and decorations that are showing up daily in yards around town. Thanksgiving Is A Choice

 Someone who knows I do this blog, and who's opinion I value, asked me today if I was planning to write a blog for Thanksgiving. I have been feeling melancholy of late in spite of the fact that I have much to be thankful for, so, I am a real-life example of someone who can be having a personal pity party and still have gratitude.
