TRUTH just is!

 What if it is true that TRUTH just is?!  We all have personal belief systems that may differ from those of others as well as overlap the beliefs of others. We make choices based on many different reasons, some and often many of which have to do with what we believe. The word "truth" is normally considered to be associated with "facts", what is "real" or "actual" (Truth Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster). Our beliefs can be influenced by others and sadly they may be based on falsehoods or twisted reality.

The word "believe" according to the Miriam-Webster definitions (Believe Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster) has several similar yet distinct definitions. I encourage you to be familiar with them as you read this Blog on TRUTH. I "believe" (suppose, in this case) that if you are reading this, that you too are a seeker of the truth as I am, or you simply have some lingering questions concerning what is true in this world. Whatever your reason for seeking TRUTH, I hope you find it!

So, herein, I will try to differentiate my point of defining a few "truths" vs. what one "believes". I am doing this because of all the recent evidence displayed in our country (and world, for that matter) that these things that in times past were seen as common sense have since gone awry.

So... I BELIEVE it is TRUE that...

  • All people are deserving of love and are valued by God (Jews and Hammas included)
  • No one person's rights should supersede the rights of others - everyone held to the same standard
  • Laws of a city, state, or country should be obeyed and if you disagree with the laws, be respectful and follow the proper procedures in trying to change them.
  • This world would be a better place if men would lead their families with Godly principles.
  • This world would be a better place if women would encourage and support the efforts of their husbands when they are attempting to lead by Godly example.
  • People would all be better off if children were allowed to be children and keep their innocence 
  • Adults should not attempt to manipulate the truth to suit their own selfish pursuits.
  • People who attempt to steal the innocence of children should be STOPPED and prosecuted by the fullest extent of the law in a swift and just manner.
  • People with male genitalia should NEVER be permitted to use a women's restroom (unless they are a child or special needs individual that is accompanied by a female adult), NEVER participate in women's sports, NEVER reside in a female dormitory or female prison.
  • People should have ALL the facts before making public "opinion" statements that will just confuse or mislead the public. (People with integrity and human decency would practice this.)
  • People would do better to monitor their own behavior rather than judging others (Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's eye." Matthew 7:5, NLT
  • LOVE trumps hatred every time. So, Dear Human Race, STOP FEELING OFFENDED and JUST LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

Facts, Faith, Freedom, and Fantasy are not the same

 We are well into the Christmas season as evidenced in the stores, the festive clothing people are wearing, and the lights and decorations that are showing up daily in yards around town. This is a time when we tend to reflect on the past and times when we shared joys of the season with loved ones who are no longer with us. There may also be a sense of melancholy in the air with thoughts of what could have been. Then, lest we forget, there are some people who have heavy hearts due to thoughts of the family and friends who are either physically distant, emotionally distant or both. Not everyone can claim the blessing of having a church family, I gratefully do have people in this category in my life, some of whom I have known for decades or even for most of my life. Thanksgiving Is A Choice

 Someone who knows I do this blog, and who's opinion I value, asked me today if I was planning to write a blog for Thanksgiving. I have been feeling melancholy of late in spite of the fact that I have much to be thankful for, so, I am a real-life example of someone who can be having a personal pity party and still have gratitude. In spite of myself and my personal pity party, I do feel led to write a blog on Thanksgiving, for Thanksgiving. So, here goes.
